Duty Station: Kale, Sagaing Region and remote working. Regular travel required.

Organisation Overview:
TheHILLS Myanmar is a non-profit organisation that aims to support high quality research, advocacy, and access to education in Chin State and surrounding areas. One of its flagship programmes is the Chin State Academic Research Network (CSARN), an interdisciplinary platform for sharing high-quality research in the area, and which supports and connects researchers working in this field. TheHILLS Myanmar implements a host of activities aimed at building research capacity such as scholarships and fellowships, and aimed at enhancing opportunities for knowledge sharing and access to education in the region (i.e. conferences, training, and mentorship programmes). Additionally, the organisation provides research services to development partners such as developing thematic reports, policy briefs, or regular topic updates, specialising on providing technical input on gender mainstreaming and streamlining “Do No Harm” principles into programme design and implementation.
The Project Officer plays a pivotal role in meeting the organisation’s objectives by assisting in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned projects. The Project Officer will be responsible for ensuring that workplans are executed efficiently, within scope, and meet the objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and administer project activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Collaborate with the team to develop project reports, plans, timelines, and budgets.
Maintain clear communication and positive relationships with donors, partners, and beneficiaries.
Ensure accurate project documentation, reporting, and compliance with financial guidelines.
Monitor progress, identify risks, and support corrective actions.
Oversee procurement, inventory, and efficient resource allocation with Finance.
Support MEL activities, including data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
Supervise staff and contribute flexibly to organisational needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or equivalent experience in a relevant field, such as project management and non-profit organisation sectors.
Good knowledge project management skills, including planning, scheduling, reporting and budgeting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Fluent in Burmese, good in oral and written in English. One of the Chin Languages is an asset.
Proficiency in IT Skills – i.e Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with different stakeholders.
